As a Social Worker II, you will be responsible for a wide range of Social Work duties including interventions, counseling, support services, conducting assessments, identifying client issues, formulating and carrying out appropriate social work treatment plans in order to meet the needs of clients experiencing chronic mental health needs within the Addiction & Mental Health Adult Community Services Team. The Social Worker II makes appropriate referrals to internal and external parties to meet clients and their families psychosocial and instrumental needs, such as housing, food, transportation, income support, and financial management and liaising with community agencies/programs. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:

As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Authorized to Perform Restricted Psychosocial Interventions. 2-3 years of experience in the provision of case management. 1-2 years of experience working within formal addiction & mental health programs. Experience providing restricted psychosocial interventions. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are required as is a demonstrated knowledge of community resources and the ability to collaborate with community partners. Professional work ethic who is able to work within a collaborative, fast-paced, positive team environment that requires prioritization, conflict resolution, critical thinking and decision-making.
