Your Opportunity:
Step Up Step Down (SUSD) provides intensive live-in and outpatient treatment in conjunction with community support for youth and their families so that the youth are able to re-integrate into their home, school and community. SUSD collaborates internally and externally to provide consistent, comprehensive, and individualized clinical services to youth across both the live-in and community settings. SUSD increases the capacity of youth (and their caregivers) to manage the youth’s addiction and/ or complex mental health needs through a collaborative and enhanced approach. This is a casual position to support increased workload at SUSD and Unit 39 at Red Deer Regional Hospital. The occasional evening may be necessary and can be discussed. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:3 years’ experience working with youth at risk populations. Knowledge of resources in Central Alberta to support youth. Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work with a wide range of professionals, and the ability to engage easily with a wide range of clients. Must have restricted activity psychosocial intervention.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in an inpatient context is considered an asset.
