Your Opportunity:

Enhancing community care options for Albertans continues to be a priority for Recovery Alberta. Our goal is to provide high-quality diverse community, home, and individualized Mental Health Services to support the long-term mental health and wellness of clients served by the Assertive Outreach Services (AOS) team who are living with the effects of a severe and persistent mental illness. The Recovery Alberta portfolio co-ordinates, plans, delivers and evaluates a province wide network of Mental Health and Addiction programs and contracted services. We work with a common purpose: to promote understanding and compassion, to encourage healthy behavior and attitudes, and to help all Albertans achieve well-being throughout their lives. This position serves clients in Area 3 (Fox Creek, Valleyview, Beaverlodge, Grande Cache, and surrounding areas) and is based centrally in Grande Prairie. Service is provided through a holistic Recovery Oriented Psychosocial Rehabilitative framework and there is an opportunity to be creative in the development of current and new AOS programming and services. This position also involves consultation and collaboration with interprofessional team members and outside agencies involved in the client’s recovery plan. Knowledge and experience working with diverse and marginalized populations using an inclusive lens of equity & diversity, Knowledge and application of trauma informed care and harm reduction preferred. As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. By applying on this posting, if you are the successful candidate, you will transition to Recovery Alberta. Preferred Qualifications:

Education or training in mental health. Recent experience working in the community with clients with a severe and persistent mental illness and/or who have complex needs. Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred. Use of Microsoft tools, First Aide, BLS, & Psychosocial Rehabilitation. Experience in health care or settings with transferable experiences, e.g. (Human Service Agencies, Children’s Services, Primary Care Networks, etc.)
