Your Opportunity:

Addiction & Mental Health Supported Housing (AMH Housing) is a fast paced and growing area within the AMH portfolio. We currently partner with several agencies in the Edmonton zone to provide a broad range of clinical services to the clients who reside in transitional and long term housing sites. The Social Worker II is the key AMH clinician for 2 transitional sites: Eagle’s Nest and Donnelly House. Eagle’s Nest is a 5 bed young adult program operated by E4C and Donnelly House is an 8 bed site operated by John Howard. The incumbent will be responsible for collaborative intake and the provision of clinical support and treatment planning. They will work with the housing providers and additional care teams to assist clients in their transition to long term housing. Essential to the skill set of this position will be a comprehensive awareness of housing resources, and an understanding of personal and systemic housing barriers. This position requires skill in AMH competencies such as risk assessment, mental health/ status assessment, biopsychosocial assessment. This is a fast paced role and an ability to manage competing priorities while building a relationship with partners is critical. This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Current CPR (BLS Level C – Health Care Provider). NCI - Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Cultural competence and a commitment to ongoing reconciliation. Flexibility, openness, and a desire to be a strong team player.

Preferred Qualifications:

3-5 years' experience in a community mental health and/or rehabilitation setting preferred. Excellent communication and self-management skills. Knowledge of Concurrent Capable practice. Knowledge of both Recovery Oriented Care and Harm Reduction principles. Experience working with multiple partners is an asset.
