Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Current Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) certification is required. Possess recent experience within the last 1-2 years working in emergency or critical care. This position supports the UAH Adult Emergency Department; experience with trauma informed care, adult Addictions and Mental Health and Child and Family services are required. Possess proven communication skills to work cooperatively and with the health care team members, patients and their families in a fast-paced environment. Strong professional judgment, initiative, and effective time management skills are necessary. Your quality of work must meet departmental and organizational expectations. Demonstrated clarity in your communication, organization and consistency of ideas, both verbally and written, including clinical documentation, is required. Must be highly motivated, confident, and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude whose work aligns with AHS Values. Able to act quickly and decisively using critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Able to utilize strong judgment by analyzing facts, considering the impact, and arriving at a sound conclusion, seeking counsel when appropriate. You can work independently and as a part of the team creating strong, effective interpersonal working relationships with peers and other caregivers. You are a reliable worker who uses time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:Ability to work with various computer programs is an asset. Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint are preferred. Familiarity with Netcare, Connect Care and/or principles of electronic documentation are preferred. Master's Degree and authorization for psychosocial interventions are an asset.
