Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other service providers and to adapt practice to the unique needs of a range of patients, their families, and community service providers. Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) program, Employment Insurance (EI) program, social services and how to assist patients in accessing these programs as required. Strong mental health assessment and crisis management skills. Solid knowledge of intervention and treatment modalities relevant to clinical disorders and psychosocial and environmental problems. Comprehensive knowledge of relevant community resources and legislation. Experience in discharge planning for patients transitioning back into the community resources. Skilled in knowing how to engage and disengage from therapeutic alliances. Understanding of the mental health continuum of Care. Understanding of Recovery model.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in an outpatient setting. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 2 years Social Worker experience providing clinical services to addictions and mental health clients.
