Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

The candidate will have proven communication skills to work cooperatively and effectively with the health care team members, patients and their families in a fast-paced environment. Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working as an RSW in renal acute care/ambulatory multidisciplinary. The candidate will hold working knowledge of the health care system and community resources. Strong professional judgment, initiative, and effective time management skills are necessary. Current Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) certification is required. Your quality of work must meet departmental and organizational expectations. Demonstrated clarity in your communication, organization and consistency of ideas, both verbally and written, including clinical documentation, is required. You must be highly motivated, confident, and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude whose work aligns with AHS Values. You must be able to act quickly and decisively using critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Able to utilize strong judgment by analyzing facts, considering the impact, and arriving at a sound conclusion, seeking counsel when appropriate. You can work independently and as a part of the team creating strong, effective interpersonal working relationships with peers and other caregivers. You are a reliable worker who uses time effectively and is able to prioritize and complete assigned tasks. You have effective teaching skills for students and other professionals.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent experience in acute care/Ambulatory clinic. Experience working with inpatients and ambulatory patients with chronic disease. Renal experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative partnerships and relationships. Proficiency with Microsoft office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint are preferred. Familiarity with Netcare, Connect Care and or principles of electronic documentation are preferred. Master's Degree is an asset.
