Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:1-2 years’ experience in a Pediatric acute care setting; recent experience in a pediatric ambulatory setting; recent pediatric experience working in emergency or critical care. Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative partnerships and relationships, strong communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary team. Crisis intervention; adjustment disorder counselling; Grief and loss counselling; Current Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) certification is required. Strong professional judgment, initiative, and effective time management skills are necessary. Quality of work must meet departmental and organizational expectations. Demonstrated clarity in communication, organization, and consistency of ideas, both verbally and written, including clinical documentation, is required. Able to act quickly and decisively using critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Able to utilize strong judgment by analyzing facts, considering the impact, and arriving at a sound conclusion, seeking counsel when appropriate. Able to work independently and as a part of the team creating strong, effective interpersonal working relationships with peers and other caregivers. Reliable and uses time effectively. Must be highly motivated, confident, and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude whose work aligns with AHS and Stollery Values. Proven track record for maintaining professional boundaries and practicing within the established organizational policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:CBD, CBT, familiar Pediatric mental Health, Experience working in an electronic medical record - connect care and net care preferred. Master's Degree and authorization for restricted psychosocial interventions are an asset.
