Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Training in Psychological First Aid required. Minimum 4 years of crisis assessment and stabilization within an Addiction and Mental Health community setting experience required. Demonstrated ability to complete a mental health assessment including risk assessment, mental status evaluation and psychosocial assessment is required. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary community health team and to accept and request direction is required. Demonstrated professional, mature manner required. Demonstrated teaching abilities, strong decision making, assessment and intervention skills required. Demonstrated ability to manage varying levels of clinical acuity and ability to work successfully with a heterogeneous client population required. A solid knowledge foundation of mental disorders and the impact this has on daily functioning is required. Demonstrated knowledge of the Alberts Mental Health Act required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters preferred. Awareness of community agencies and resources for addiction and mental health clients (both inside and outside of AHS) is an asset. Must be eligible to be authorized to perform psychosocial interventions. Training in Critical Incident Stress Management is an asset.
