Your Opportunity:

South Zone Rural West has an exciting opportunity for a leader looking to influence and support healthcare for the residents of the beautiful Crowsnest Pass and area. The Crowsnest Pass Health Centre is an active and busy rural hospital incorporating, emergency services, acute care, surgery, obstetrical care and long-term care. Located in the southwest corner of Alberta's magnificent Rocky Mountains, outdoor activities are on your doorstep in this amazing community. The Site Manager is accountable for the delivery of high quality, accessible, sustainable, patient and family-focused care. The Site Manager has direct managerial accountability for the majority of clinical operations employees working on site. The Site Manager is accountable for, in conjunction with the Director, setting and executing on strategic and operational priorities for the Crowsnest Pass Health Centre. This includes developing and implementing site-based plans, ensuring the effective deployment of resources, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Description:

Lead the clinical operations of the Crowsnest Pass Health Centre within the area of accountability; In conjunction with the Rural Director, inform the development of the site operational plan and operational priorities. Ensure the effective deployment of human resources, and create a safe, healthy and inclusive workplace where employees and physicians can reach their full potential. Ensure the appropriate allocation of fiscal and capital resources across the area of accountability, and manage and report on the operating budget, including budget forecasting and expenditure monitoring in accordance with established AHS policies and practices. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the assigned rural sites to ensure the ongoing evolution of high-quality healthcare. Using effective change management practices, manage initiatives to improve the overall clinical operations within the site. Provide site management for the Crowsnest Pass Health Centre; Through both managerial and cross-functional accountabilities and authorities, act as the primary point of management for issues that relate specifically to the site (e.g. capital improvement, patient flow). Ensure optimal use of human, financial and capital resources to achieve operational efficiencies relating to the greater site (e.g. capital planning, equipment planning, and service planning). Pursue quality and innovative initiatives that optimize the day-to-day functioning of the site through standardization and implementation of best practices. Maintain strong working relationships with key leaders and stakeholders to provide operational and interdepartmental leadership that integrates the site as a whole. Respond to or coordinate a response to patient/family feedback that directly relates to site-based issues.

Required Qualifications:

Two year post-secondary program. Education in a health profession. Registration with an appropriate Alberta Regulated Health Profession. Progressive experience in a health care environment in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Practical experience in project management. Uses strategic thinking, taking into account long-term goals assessing options and implications. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage diverse human, financial and physical resources within a complex environment. Strong organizational skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing long-term quality services. Experience in collaborating with physicians and other health care professionals.


Additional Required Qualifications:

BCLS current certification.


Preferred Qualifications:

5 to 8 years Progressive experience in a health care environment in a site management, patient flow or bed utilization role in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Related bachelor’s degree. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.
