Service Worker II
Your Opportunity:
This position is Saturday-Tuesday 0700-1515 (statutory holidays included). As a Service Worker II in Diagnostic Imaging you will be responsible for coordinating and assigning work to other staff members working alongside you. You will enter payroll, train new staff, be a liaison between service workers, DI technologists, nurses and units. This role includes staff scheduling, ensuring the department is appropriately staffed and shifts are filled. In Diagnostic Imaging the role of a service worker is to transport patients.
Description:
As a Service Worker II, you will be responsible for readying supplies, and cleaning/disinfecting instruments and specialty equipment for immediate use/reuse by healthcare staff. You will distribute and replenish patient care supplies, perform quality control tests on equipment and record maintenance data. You may also transport patients (clients/residents), equipment, lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required. In addition, you will ensure that patient care areas and other assigned areas are accurately stocked and that specialty equipment required by the healthcare staff is available.

Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Previous service worker/porter experience. No physical limitations including lifting, pushing/pulling, twisting, bending, standing. Ability to lift at least 50lbs on a consistent basis.
Preferred Qualifications:Connect Care training preferred. Strong organizational, technical, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to assume responsibility, to work effectively both independently and within a team environment. Ability to work under pressure. Demonstrates initiative, good judgement, positive attitude and concern for detail and accuracy. Ability in the use of tact, courtesy and professionalism with patients, staff and physicians.
