Your Opportunity:

The Service Worker I plays a vital role in supporting Child Life Services at the Stollery Children’s Hospital. Reporting to the Manager of Child Life, Awasisak, and Patient & Family Centered Care, this position ensures that therapeutic and recreational programming spaces are well-stocked, organized, and ready for use. By maintaining supplies and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, the Service Worker I helps create a positive and engaging environment for patients and families. At the Stollery Children’s Hospital, you’ll be part of a team dedicated to improving the lives of children and families through compassionate care and innovative programming. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact behind the scenes by ensuring our Child Life team has the resources they need to deliver exceptional care.

Description:

As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience working with children 0-17yrs in an acute care setting. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting. Physical ability to lift and move supplies as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service environment is an asset. Organization skills. Awareness of infection prevention control guidelines.
