Service Worker I
Your Opportunity:
The Stollery Children's Hospital is seeking a part time Service Worker I to provide support and assistance to the Patient and Family Centred Care team by supporting our multi-site Family Spaces, providing wayfinding for patients and families, and helping deliver supplies and resources for patients and families within the hospital. Responsibilities include cleaning and organizing Family Spaces, receiving, unloading and stocking nutritional items and other supplies, delivering essential items throughout the hospitals and providing direction and wayfinding assistance to families. Please note this position will support our team both at the Walter Mackenzie and Royal Alexandra Stollery Sites.
Description:
As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:This position requires the employee to be on their feet for most of the shift and will require lifting up to 50lb. Bending, kneeling, squatting and lifting above the shoulders will also be required routinely.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience and demonstrated passion for supporting families in a healthcare setting would be an asset.
