Service Worker I
Your Opportunity:
Minimum 2 years equivalent experience as a Service Worker in an Ambulatory setting. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated organizational and critical thinking skills a long with reliability, self-motivation, and ability to work independently. Grade 12 required and post-secondary education and medical terminology an asset. Nature of work is this busy face paced clinic is physically demanding including but not limited to repetitive and demanding tasks including long periods of standing, walking, pulling, and lifting of wheelchairs, equipment, and supplies. Assist with transport of patients with different levels of assistance required. To complete tasks bending, squatting, and reaching is required throughout the shift. Position requires successful candidate to maintain supplies and restocking, assist with room turn over, changing laundry bags, and ensuring orderly working environment supporting access and flow. English comprehension both in oral and written required. It’s Your Move preferred. Ability to wear PPE as required in the workplace. Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams and word.
Description:
As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.
