Your Opportunity:
The Surgical Processor is responsible for performing and documenting a full range of duties which include: Decontaminating, assembling, packaging, sterilizing, storing and distributing sterile instruments (including the most highly complex instruments), supplies and non-sterile equipment for patient care units, clinics and operating rooms. Situated 135km east of Edmonton, Two Hills is a rural town serving an agricultural region. The town has a population of 1,379 while the county has approximately 4,500 people. Residents have easy access to the downtown and commercial areas, as well as several parks and playgrounds. The town has a grocery store, several restaurants, gas stations, two banks, various businesses, churches, two schools with Kindergarten to grade 12, daycare, an arena and curling rink, and a golf course. Within a half-hour drive are three beautiful lakes ideal for camping and fishing.
Description:
As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:A Sterile Processing Certificate (including successful completion of a practicum placement from a recognized educational institution) or willingness to enroll in a certificate program within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience within past 5 years is preferred. Knowledge and experience with the WHMIS program is preferred.
