A graduate degree in health care management, business administration or a related health care field is required. A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience, including at least 3 years in a senior management position, in a healthcare environment, working within a public sector organization of significant size, complexity, or diversity is required. Proven experience leading and overseeing an IPC program or functional area, with accountability for planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous quality improvement. A combination of experience and education will be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate possesses advanced content knowledge in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), including evidence‑based practices, current guidelines, and applicable legislation, standards, and accreditation requirements. The successful candidate demonstrates strong leadership skills, including effective decision-making, coaching, ability to inspire and build confidence in others. You have led interdisciplinary teams, have successfully collaborated with physicians. You demonstrate strategic thinking, considering long-term goals assessing options and implications and is experienced in strategic planning and implementation. An effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, you have a successful track record of fostering partnerships with diverse stakeholders and navigating stakeholder complexities to achieve organizational goals. You also have a proven abilities in interacting with regulatory bodies and government. You have successfully led change initiatives and are an innovative and creative thinker skilled in assessing options and long-term implications for organizational goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Recent clinical practice in acute or long-term care settings, and as applicable, active licensure with a relevant regulatory body (e.g. CARNA, ACMLT) are preferred. Membership with Infection Prevention and Control – Canada (IPAC-Canada) is an asset.
