Post-secondary degree in a health care profession, business or related field. 3 - 5 years of experience working in a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. 2 - 5 years of progressive experience in project management, including knowledge and training in project management principles, tools and methodologies. Experience leading project teams and large projects within a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Experience with project management is required, including facilitation/coordination of project planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation. Experience working directly with clinicians; comfortable communicating with physicians, other health care professionals and executives. Demonstrated strength in verbal and written communication skills; ability to relay or explain complex issues or difficult situations. Demonstrated application of systems thinking, and change management. Experience with MS Office suite (preferably including MS Project and Visio). Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a unique project environment where project resources and subject matter experts have limited availability to contribute; ability to move projects forward within these constraints.
Additional Required Qualifications:Skill and experience in critical thinking, analysis, problem solving, negotiation, investigation and concerns resolution. Motivated and adaptable team player with experience coordinating/leading teams. Demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making and communication, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Proven ability to foster relationships and partnerships with complex and varied internal and external individuals and groups. Ability to work independently, prioritize and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:Relevant project management specific education, training, or certification in project management from an accredited institution. Breadth of knowledge of healthcare and healthcare issues. Training in process improvement, change management and health services planning is an asset. Ability to develop and facilitate presentations to convey information or transfer knowledge. Facilitation and mediation skills.
