Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing from an accredited institution. Master of Nursing required. Active registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). The Heart and Stroke Foundation (HSF) Health Care Provider – Level C Basic Life Support (CPR) Certification as appropriate/required for the patient care setting.
Additional Required Qualifications:5+ years clinical experience as applicable for the designated patient care setting preferred. Teaching/facilitation skills in small and large group settings utilizing knowledge of adult learning principles. Coaching and mentoring skills. Involvement in developing/delivering and implementing educational programs or initiatives an asset. Change management knowledge and experience required. Self-directed and self-motivated. Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to organize and prioritize competing demands. Demonstrated leadership skills. Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of practice related education resources to support staff. Skilled in retrieval and appraisal of evidence from a variety of credible sources to provide current accurate information. Previous assessment skills to recognize and respond appropriately to staff learning requirements an asset. Demonstrated effective collaboration within a team environment. Understanding and application of information and communication technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:Professional experience with IEHPs and addressing their barriers to practice. Experience as an international hire. Experience and course work in collaborative practice, evaluation, quality improvement, change, and project leadership.
