If you are an experienced, results oriented nursing professional seeking a new challenge, this position is for you! As a Senior Practice Consultant, Associate Chief Nursing Office, you will use your clinical knowledge and skills in leadership, education, change management and communication to provide expert advice, development, review, integration, implementation and evaluation related to professional practice standards, clinical education and practice consultation service.

Description:

Position reports to the Associate Chief Nursing Officer within Health Professions Strategy and Practice (HPSP). Location is negotiable within the province. As a Senior Practice Consultant you will be Identifying, facilitating and negotiating solutions for projects and initiatives. May lead program related change initiatives for their area or specialty from a clinical and practice perspective. This includes working with managers, educators, subject matter experts and partners. Development of health discipline specific policy, standards, clinical education and guidelines that align with strategic provincial direction. Participation in implementing and evaluating strategic initiatives. Practice consultation activities at provincial and local levels for health care professionals include regulatory standards, scope of practice, and competency and role development for regulated and unregulated direct health care providers. Specifically, you will: Lead a strategic, standardized approach for electronic nursing clinical tools for continuous quality outcomes for safe patient care. Development of health discipline specific policy, standards, clinical education, and guidelines that align with strategic provincial direction. Engages subject matter experts in change process and understands the impact on both internal and external partnerships; manages risks and benefits accordingly. Oversee comprehensive measures of education effectiveness and advance improvements in standardization. Provide change management and effective communication within a climate of rapid transition.

Required Qualifications:

Master of Nursing or equivalency. RN or RPN. Applicable licenses and designation. A minimum of (5) years in healthcare practice consultation, leadership or professional development role in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Minimum of (3) years of experience as a clinical instructor, nurse educator or leader of education programming. Tactical and operational thinking, taking into account short-, mid- and long-term goals assessing options and implications. Practical experience in professional practice learning and development, project management and written communication. Wide scope of experience in clinical education.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Significant skills and comfort with use of technology as demonstrated by experience is required Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications. Knowledge, understanding and skills in the utilization of electronic nursing clinical resources is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with managing complex projects with multiple subject matter experts. Experience in perioperative, emergency or rural nursing projects and/or education delivery.
