Senior Financial Analyst
Your Opportunity:
We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team, supporting the Capital Asset function. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong experience in fixed asset accounting, financial analysis, and internal controls. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate accounting, reporting, and lifecycle management of capital assets. Manage and maintain the fixed asset subledger, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/ASPE) related to capital assets. Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and working papers for capital assets. Support the monthly and year-end close processes for capital assets, including variance analysis. Partner with operational teams to support capital project accounting and capitalization policies. Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and capital planning. Support internal and external audit requests related to fixed assets. Identify and implement process improvements, controls, and efficiencies within the capital asset function. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, as needed.
Description:
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will coordinate and/or prepare complex financial and statistical analysis and reports, along with providing interpretation of analyses and reports to support business and external requirements. Your work will be focused on budgets, forecasting, recommendations for program and/or cost efficiencies and development or enhancements to processes and controls. In addition, you will coordinate and monitor progress of financial projects, as well as coach and guide other department staff such as Financial Analysts.

Post secondary degree specializing in accounting or related field (e.g. economics, statistics).
Additional Required Qualifications:Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3–5+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a strong focus on fixed assets or capital accounting. Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting practices. Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, or similar). Advanced proficiency in Excel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
