Senior Financial Analyst
Your Opportunity:
This Senior Financial Analyst position in Business Advisory Services (BAS) will support Recovery Alberta, formerly Addiction & Mental Health primarily focusing on Correctional Health Services, Provincial AMH and Medical Affairs. The successful candidate should be a self-starter, demonstrate excellent technical skills in excel, and work well as part of a team. This position location can be flexible as currently you will be expected to work from home, working hours are from 8:00am to 4:15pm. Job responsibilities include but not limited to providing advice and expertise on financial policies, systems and procedures to operational leadership, compiling financial information and reporting, analyzing data, and submitting financial information into the Financial Information Reporting Management System. Other duties include journal entries, ad hoc reporting, variance analysis, reconciliation, and various month end, quarter end, and annual accounting duties.
Description:
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will coordinate and/or prepare complex financial and statistical analysis and reports, along with providing interpretation of analyses and reports to support business and external requirements. Your work will be focused on budgets, forecasting, recommendations for program and/or cost efficiencies and development or enhancements to processes and controls. In addition, you will coordinate and monitor progress of financial projects, as well as coach and guide other department staff such as Financial Analysts.

Post secondary degree specializing in accounting or related field (e.g. economics, statistics).
Additional Required Qualifications:Advanced MS Excel skills. Minimum of two years of accounting or financial experience. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills. Ability to perform strategically and systematically. Work with minimum supervision. Ability to meet defined deadlines. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of the team. Ability to think critically and problem solve.
Preferred Qualifications:Post-secondary degree in accounting or related field. Working toward or has a professional accounting/finance designation. Financial experience in a Health Care environment. Strong working knowledge of Oracle, Hyperion and Excel applications.
