Senior Financial Analyst
Your Opportunity:
The Senior Financial Analyst is a supporting role within Finance. This role is accountable for the delivery, integration, and evaluation of finance processes, solutions, and services to an identified client group; all while ensuring they align with and support AHS provincial approaches, organizational priorities, and evolving best practices. Under the supervision and direction of the Manager, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for a variety of customer support duties as a member of the Business Advisory Services (BAS) team. As a member of the Business Advisory Services (BAS) finance team, the Senior Financial Analyst will provide finance and business system expertise and day to day tactical support for projects and normal operations. Supporting the Diagnostic Imaging client group, the primary duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: providing financial support to staff in client departments; assisting in the development, maintenance, and monitoring of departmental budgets; performing detailed variance analysis, along with financial results reporting. This role will encompass a variety of projects and tasks that will include project costing, performance reporting, staffing requirements, research, and trend analysis. This role demands both strong analytical skills and strong communication skills. Incumbents will be required to interact with stakeholders in a variety of roles within the organization and possess the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Description:
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will coordinate and/or prepare complex financial and statistical analysis and reports, along with providing interpretation of analyses and reports to support business and external requirements. Your work will be focused on budgets, forecasting, recommendations for program and/or cost efficiencies and development or enhancements to processes and controls. In addition, you will coordinate and monitor progress of financial projects, as well as coach and guide other department staff such as Financial Analysts.

Post secondary degree specializing in accounting or related field (e.g. economics, statistics).
Additional Required Qualifications:Applicants should be in final stages or have completed the requirements of a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or MBA. Intermediate MS Excel skills. Minimum of 4 years of accounting or financial experience. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills. Ability to think and act strategically and systematically. Work with minimum supervision. Ability to meet defined deadlines. Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Able to recognize and maintain confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference given to healthcare experience within a public organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Strong working knowledge of Oracle and Hyperion applications. Experience providing financial advice to leadership positions.
