Your Opportunity:

The Senior Flow Coordinator performs a leadership role in achieving site goals and initiatives and reports directly to the Site Director Foothills Medical Centre. This position is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, team leadership and organization over the activities of the site in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services.

Description:

The Senior Flow Coordinator is responsible and accountable for: Addressing a range of complex site operational and care related issues in response to situations using specialized knowledge, experience and judgment & provincial policies to determine an appropriate & timely response. Identifying, leading, facilitating and evaluating selected initiatives related to site operations/service delivery, including process & system improvements at a site level. Proactively assessing and managing site demands in consultation with Management Team, Charge RN, Transition Services, Admitting, Support Services, Planning, Engineering & Maintenance, Communications, Infection Prevention & Control, Case Managers, Patient & Family Centered Care, Patient Concerns Consultant, and site Physician Leaders. Providing leadership in the planning & development of initiatives to promote & enhance positive working relationships & work environment at a site level. Providing leadership in decisions related to policy and practice at a site and local level. In collaboration with the management team, acting in a full management capacity for overseeing site operations, including but not limited to decisions to redeploy staff as required to manage site demands and assessment & coordination of temporary bed closures.

Required Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in health care required. 4 – 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a Health Care environment, including experience in a management role.

Preferred Qualifications:

Nursing degree preferred.
