Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Or any equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of two years direct experience working with Indigenous Peoples (First Nations, Métis and Inuit) in a hospital or community-based case management, health promotion, public health or social work setting. Knowledge of case management/system navigation models and principles. Knowledge of trauma-informed care, and an understanding of the intergenerational trauma that impacts Indigenous Peoples in Alberta. Knowledge of and support of mainstream health services and community resources, specifically Indigenous programs and services in the South Zone area. Experience with and supportive of Indigenous healing practices. Knowledge of specialty programs utilized by Indigenous patients (e.g. dialysis, diabetes education centres). Knowledge of tools, systems and databases used in client service delivery and case management. Familiarity with Indigenous communities, organizations and history in Alberta. Indigenous cultural competency skills. Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) are required. Superior interpersonal, collaboration, facilitation and negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment. Willingness to participate in ongoing cultural learning and traditional teachings.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two or three years of experience working in a community or health care setting preferred.
