Your Opportunity:

The Cancer System, Innovation, and Integration (CSII) team is a provincial team within Cancer Care Alberta’s Provincial Systems Programs and Performance portfolio. The team’s core mandate is to lead the development, implementation, and sustainment of cancer diagnosis pathways across Alberta. These pathways are designed to support timely, evidence-based care for individuals who may have cancer and are co-developed with patients, primary care providers, diagnostic services, and cancer specialists to ensure clinical relevance and alignment with provincial health priorities. Reporting to the Manager of Guidelines and Pathways, the Senior Consultant plays a central role in the implementation of provincial pathways, standards, tools, resources, processes, workflows, and strategies to promote high quality care. Working under the direction of the Senior Project Manager, the Senior Consultant collaborates with the CSII team and a broad network of stakeholders in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of pathways and other projects that improve diagnostic processes and patient outcomes. This is a 15-month grant-funded position.

Key responsibilities include: Planning/project management - designs, implements, evaluates, and monitors projects and activities using a collaborative project management approach. Quality improvement, implementation, and evaluation - designs and co-creates change management strategies and evaluation frameworks that support implementation and sustainability of evidence-based practices. Leads the development and delivery of knowledge translation activities to support change management. Facilitation and collaboration across project teams and multidisciplinary partners. Communication and writing - prepares and writes documents for a wide range of internal and external audiences to communicate project status and outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a health-related field or business/healthcare administration. At least 2 years of experience in project management, quality improvement, knowledge translation, and change management, with a proven ability to lead and support healthcare initiatives.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Significant experience in problem solving, conflict resolution, investigation, and negotiation. Team leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to foster relationships/partnerships and facilitate change with internal and external stakeholders. Effective communication and organizational skills. Proficiency in Visio, Excel, Access, Power Point, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

Designations in Prosci, Lean Six Sigma, AIW, or other change management/process improvement methods. Knowledge of and experience in cancer care.
