Description:

The Senior Advisor, EMS Attraction, plays a critical role in shaping and supporting Alberta’s growing provincial EMS workforce. As a key member of an interdisciplinary team, you will use expertise to identify, design, implement, and evaluate innovative talent solutions that build robust pipelines and streamline professional recruitment processes. Your goal is to meet the increasing demand for EMS professionals by enhancing the candidate experience and ensuring the timely recruitment of qualified talent. Key responsibilities include: The design and management of systems to expand talent pipelines, ensuring a steady flow of qualified candidates to meet the growing needs of the EMS workforce; Identify and implement creative, evidence-based recruitment strategies to attract top talent, tailoring approaches to both targeted and broad attraction goals; Lead the development, implementation and management of tuition and training programs, focusing on areas with the greatest staffing needs; Design, implement and administrate a provincial team of career ambassadors to represent AHSEMS at career events, school presentations, and other public and candidate facing engagements; Develop systems that improve the candidate experience, from initial outreach through to onboarding, ensuring seamless, professional, and positive recruitment processes; Leverage your strong communication skills to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders, including candidates, hiring manager and senior leaders, using English proficiency across written, spoken, and multimedia channels; Organize and manage large-scale recruitment programs across a geographically dispersed workforce; Apply strategic planning, resource allocation, and time management skills to ensure programs meet their objectives on time and within budget.

Required Qualifications:

A four (4) year bachelor’s degree from an accredited post-secondary educational institution, with a focus in business, communications, organizational behaviour, marketing, human resources, or another related field. Four (4) to eight (8) years of progressive experience in management, talent acquisition and attraction, or another human resources field. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the healthcare or public safety industry.


Additional Required Qualifications:

This position requires a proven ability to design and execute comprehensive recruitment and attraction strategies that align with organizational goals; strong proficiency in English across written, verbal, and multimedia formats, with particular focus on creating engaging content for diverse audiences; demonstrated creativity in developing new and effective recruitment strategies, couples with the ability to innovate within a dynamic, fast-paced environment; strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate resources effectively to meet recruitment and growth targets; able to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment on recruitment objectives and processes.


Preferred Qualifications:

A Graduate degree from an accredited post-secondary educational institution with a focus in training and development, human resources management, organizational development, or business administration. Active certification with the Society for Human Resources Management, Chartered Professional in Human Resources, or equivalent. Certification with the Association for Talent Development, the International Society for Performance Improvement, or equivalent professional certifications.
