As the Senior Advisor – Enterprise Information Management (EIM), you'll play a key leadership role within the Enterprise Information Management team, reporting directly to the Director, EIM. In this role, you'll provide leadership, strategic direction, and expert guidance across key program areas, which include Consent & Confidentiality, Information Governance and Data Quality, and Records and Health Information Management. Your expertise will help build a strong foundation for Enterprise Information Management by advancing information governance and stewardship, supporting clinical workflows and improving data quality, and enabling the effective and responsible use of information across the organization.

Description:

In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and enterprise expertise to advance information management practices within Health Shared Services and across the Alberta health ecosystem, with a focus on supporting Connect Care Complex Areas (Consent & Confidentiality) and the ongoing optimization of a shared clinical information system. You will collaborate with provincial health organizations and a diverse range of stakeholders to develop innovative solutions to complex information management challenges. As a trusted advisor, you will lead change initiatives, drive provincial standardization efforts, and help establish consistent practices that support the Legal Record of Care. You will also lead and contribute to provincial committees and working groups, develop practical tools and resources to measure and improve outcomes, and guide the development of enterprise standards, policies, practices, and educational resources that enable information to be leveraged as a strategic organizational asset.

Required Qualifications:

A University Degree in a health discipline, health informatics, information management, computer science, business analysis or closely related field. A minimum of 7 years' experience in an information management role, preferably in health care, with evidence of progressive leadership. Experience understanding and interpreting clinical workflows, where there are intersections with legal and regulatory environments, and the use of technology. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Additional Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have evidenced skills and expertise in the following areas: collaborative problem solving involving multiple and diverse stakeholders, service delivery and continuous process improvement, ability to facilitate change and influence others, business analysis and requirements gathering, design principles and functions for information systems, presenting complex information to others in a meaningful way, defining information governance, standards, policies and practice and leading business and/or information technology transformational initiatives. Equivalencies of education and experience will be considered


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with leading projects through planning, execution, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation. Knowledge and experience interpreting privacy and health legislation, health professions regulations and standards. Demonstrated ability to foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Subject matter expertise in key areas of an EIM program.
