Your Opportunity:

The Senior Advisor, Ethics & Compliance is a rewarding opportunity to help strengthen public trust in the integrity of clinical and non-clinical activities across Health Shared Services (HSS) and provincial health agencies and corporations. As a key member of the Ethics & Compliance team, you will apply your legal or human resources expertise to advance the effective implementation of the Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest Bylaw, and Whistleblower Policy. The role collaborates with leaders, staff and partners across the organizations and reports to the Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer. The position offers a high degree of independence working with a collaborative team. You will be responsible for reviewing and assessing Code, Bylaw and policy disclosures. You will also lead or participate in the conduct of investigations. The successful candidate has a proven ability to develop clear, well supported, practical recommendations that support compliance. Success in this role requires strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex and sensitive matters. Sound judgment, analytical and critical thinking abilities, and a practical, solutions focused approach are required. Professionalism, empathy, and discretion are essential in navigating sensitive matters. Adaptability in a dynamic, evolving system and the proven ability to work in a team environment will contribute to your success. Health Shared Services is a Provincial Health Corporation (PHC) with over 15,000 employees delivering corporate, non-clinical services to Alberta’s health system. Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB/JD) or Business (B.Comm with Human Resources focus). Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a legal advisory or HR advisory role within a large, complex, and diverse organization.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience supporting Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest, and Whistleblower policy administration. Experience in supporting or conducting workplace investigations. Proficiency with MS Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint


Preferred Qualifications:

Chartered Professionals in Human Resources of Alberta (CPHR) designation. Experience providing advisory services within a unionized environment. Experience in Alberta’s health system and sound understanding of health structures, programs, policies and procedures.
