Your Opportunity:
RGH is a metropolitan hospital with over 600 inpatient beds; it is also the main site for urology and ophthalmology specialties. RGH is located next to the scenic Glenmore Reservoir in Southwest Calgary. RGH Allied Health department works collaboratively with all clinical teams: Emergency, ICU/CCU, Medical/Surgical Units, Transition Units, Mental Health, Orthopedics and the Acute Geriatric Units. This position may provide coverage to all service areas listed above. The caseload for this position is a Seating Technician, with the potential for coverage on any unit/service as required. The caseload for all positions within the Allied Health department may be subject to change based on operational considerations. This position is physically demanding and requires repetitive lifting and transferring of patients and/or equipment. Description:
As the Seating Technician you will design, modify, fabricate, assemble and repair custom and commercial seating systems under the direction of the seating clinical team. You will also complete equipment/wheelchair repairs as needed and support the work of the area such as ordering equipment and supplies, equipment maintenance, keeping the area clean and completing any necessary paperwork for billing purposes.

Completion of Grade 12. Completion of diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program. Minimum of one year's experience in the area of seating and fabrication of custom seating.
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience within the last year completing OTA and/or PTA therapeutic interventions in an urban acute care environment. BLS for Health Care Providers Level C CPR certification issued within the last 12 months prior to commencement of employment. Ability to physically manage repetitive lifting and transferring of patients and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:Greater than one year of experience in the area of seating and fabrication of custom seating.
