Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible for registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of 0.5 FTE or greater experience as an RRT within the last 5 years, in an acute care facility. Experience in the last 2 years in a Level II or III NICU with an ability to demonstrate competence with neonatal intubation and case room management. Current NRP. Current BLS-HCP Certification. The following physical requirements: Being on one’s feet for extended periods of time (walking and standing). Transporting, lifting and positioning of patients. Able to bend, lift, push and pull equipment. Exposure to infectious diseases, and hazardous situations for which they are trained. Preferred Qualifications:

Prior leadership experience and/or leadership training courses. Current PALS/ACLS. Current NRP/BLS/ACLS/PALS instructor certification. Current Adult/pediatric intubation and arterial line insertion certifications. Prior involvement with quality improvement initiatives or other committee work. Demonstrated ability with interpersonal skills and conflict management. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and problem solve. Current orientation to RDRHC. Formal Preceptor Training Courses.
