Your Opportunity:

The IT - Clinical Services Acute Care and Emergency Department Team supports Emergency Departments in providing timely, high-quality care primarily through Connect Care (CC) and is currently looking for a Respiratory Therapist III- Clinical Practice Lead to join their team. The associated Epic module (ASAP) gives prescribers, nursing, allied health, and administration the tools they need to deliver safe, high-quality care. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to contribute to ensuring that treatment decisions are based on up-to-date information and that care is coordinated across providers. The successful candidate will rely on in-depth knowledge of both ASAP and Clinical Workflows to provide subject matter expertise through the design, planning, and implementation of changes and enhancements. Strong communication and superior customer relationship skills will ensure that the successful candidate can translate clinical practices and processes into technical system solutions that meet clinical needs. This role will report to the Manager of the Acute Care and Emergency Department Team, a fast paced and highly productive team. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and able to work with little supervision. This position plays an essential role in delivering organizational goals, serving as a liaison between Epic and clinical teams to ensure that deliverables meet both technical requirements and business needs. This position will have a key responsibility of working with both project and operational teams gathering business requirements, system design, build, testing, implementation, reporting, and maintenance. The successful candidate will need to resolve complex technical problems, ensuring reliable operation of the team’s responsible applications by leveraging strong clinical, technical, written and oral communication skills.

Description:

As a Respiratory Therapist III, you will be responsible for mentoring, promoting standards of practice, responding to clinical questions, and coordinating ongoing skill and student development within your team. You will collaborate with managers and supervisors in the provision and access to internal and external continuing education and professional development programs including certifications and upgrades.

Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible for registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CRTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Additional Required Qualifications (1500 characters. Skills and abilities. Add a period at the end of each sentence, do not use bullets): Minimum 3 years in health informatics or equivalent education or certification. Experience managing risk and dependencies. Experience in process improvement and change management. Experience in planning, communication, facilitation, coordination of multiple projects. Experience mentoring and supporting junior staff. Must possess a valid passport and/or relevant documentation allowing entry into the USA and must be able to travel within Alberta. Candidates who do not have current Epic certification or proficiency must pass a standard Epic aptitude assessment test before moving to the next step of the recruitment process. This position will be in a 24-hour on-call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years in health informatics. Direct experience in supporting Epic or Connect Care. Adult Education Experience or Training. Current proficiency or certification in Epic Application(s), ASAP preferred. Emergency Department Clinical background. Minimum 5 years healthcare experience. Certified Professional in Health Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS)/ Certified Professional in Health Information and Management Systems – Canada (CPHIMS-CA)
