Active or eligible for registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. 5 years recent experience in the RTII (Anesthesia) role required. Previous pediatric and/or intensive care experience required. Demonstrated mentorship, teaching experience, and the ability to develop learning plans and orientation tools. Proven organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to assess, support, and educate staff on departmental competencies and technologies (e.g. arterial Line placement). Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, conflict resolution, and change‑management skills. Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure with minimal supervision. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times. Additional Responsibilities (Optional Scope Based on Operational Needs): Because the RT Educator often overlaps with RT III functions, the role may include: Providing technical and clinical expertise related to anesthesia and physiological monitoring equipment. Coordinating RT team assignments, supporting safe and effective anesthesia services, and onboarding new RT team members.
Preferred Qualifications:Post‑RRT education in Anesthesia Assistance preferred.
