Respiratory Therapist III
Your Opportunity:
Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre serves the community of Central Alberta. Our Operating Room consists of 9 OR theatres that specialize in General Surgery, Orthopedic - Trauma and Total Joints, Plastics, Gynecology, ENT, and Urology. Our multidisciplinary team includes Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Perioperative Registered Nurses, ORTs, Respiratory Therapists II, Anesthesia Assistants and support staff. As a Respiratory Therapist III in the operating room, you will be responsible for providing care in the intraoperative phase. You will be responsible for working closely with anesthesia. Providing education and being a leader within the OR. Strong communication and collaboration skills are important; problem-solving skills using critical thinking, time management and adaptability or imperative; leadership and conflict resolution skills are essential to this role.
Description:
As a Respiratory Therapist III - Clinical Practice Lead, you will be responsible for mentoring, promoting standards of practice, responding to clinical questions, and coordinating ongoing skill and student development within your team. You will collaborate with managers and supervisors in the provision and access to internal and external continuing education and professional development programs including certifications and upgrades.

Active or eligible for registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Graduate of a recognized school of Respiratory Therapy accredited by the Council on Accreditation, for Respiratory Therapy Education. Anesthesia Assistant trained. Experience with education, operating room equipment and supply ordering, and leadership within the operating room. Minimum five years' experience within the operating room.
