Your Opportunity:

Join a dynamic and collaborative Community Respiratory Therapy team that plays a vital role in supporting respiratory and cardiac health across rural communities in the southwest corridor of Alberta. In this position, you will work directly with clients to provide high quality respiratory care, including cardiac and respiratory diagnostic testing, disease process education, and arterial blood gas procurement to support home oxygen funding. Based out of the Taber Health Centre, this role offers a unique blend of community-based practice with some acute care exposure. You will also provide service coverage to surrounding rural sites such as Milk River & Coaldale, allowing you to build strong connections and deliver impactful care across diverse settings. As an established and well-integrated position, you will benefit from the support of an experienced community therapy team, a professional practice lead, and a committed manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a respiratory therapist who values autonomy, variety, and meaningful engagement with clients and communities. A relocation allowance is available to eligible applicants.

Description:

As a Respiratory Therapist II, you will coordinate, monitor and assess clinical services in your assigned area. You will act as a clinical resource for daily operations, coordinating the work of therapy assessment and treatment in your service area, and assist in the development of clinical protocols. You will develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor the progress of patients (clients, residents) receiving advanced respiratory treatment. You will identify new equipment requirements, and establish and maintain adequate levels of supplies and materials for your area. You will be responsible for respiratory equipment, including but not limited to operation, procurement, maintenance, and quality assurance. You will participate in interprofessional patient, client or resident rounds, conferences and meetings where applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CRTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a registered Respiratory Therapist. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification. Proven ability to work independently while exercising sound clinical judgment. Ability and willingness to travel between assigned rural sites as part of regular duties. Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritize care and adapt to diverse clinical situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in rural or community respiratory care. Strong time management and workload prioritization skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE) Designation. ABG certification. Experience with spirometry testing and AADL home oxygen funding criteria. Relevant bachelor's or master's degree is an asset.
