Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Graduate of accredited RT Program. Minimum 2 years’ experience in the last 4 years with pulmonary function testing. Minimum of 2 years previous acute care experience. Demonstrated expertise in adult teaching and learning. Experience within the last 2 years supporting bronchoscopy procedures with strong airway management skills. Experience within the last 2 years supporting Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing including Exercise Induced Bronchoconstriction, Eucapneic Voluntary Hyperventilation Studies, Shunt Estimates, Hypoxia Altitude Simulation Testing. Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and independence of respiratory therapy in a highly functioning team environment. Mastery in comprehensive pulmonary function testing and decision-making. Must be able to work in a physically challenging environment; constant walking and standing, patient transfers, lifting, maneuvering patients and heavy equipment in tight spaces, and bending are necessary. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient computer skills & Connect Care/Epic experience required. Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with patients and their families. Demonstrated history of collaborative practice and ability to build productive professional relationships with team members and other health care professionals. Demonstrated ability to take direction and feedback and incorporate into professional practice. BLS HCP certification.
Preferred Qualifications:Completion of Certified Respiratory Educator credential. Experience performing TEEs.
