Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy. Current BLS certification. Current NRP certification. Minimum two years recent experience in level III neonatal critical care. Transport aircraft safety certification (upon hire). Formal institution based neonatal transport training course (upon hire). Formal institution based Neonatal Resuscitation and Stabilization Team (RST) training (upon hire). Critical Thinking, assessment, communication, and excellent interpersonal skills. Exercises good judgement, organizational, and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and handle competing priorities. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on a multi-disciplinary patient care team. Ability to work in aircraft and ground vehicle transport environment. Commitment to principles of family centered care. Excellent workplace attendance record.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current neonatal transport and delivery room resuscitation experience. Current experience (> 2 years) with multiple neonatal populations, including congenital cardiac, surgical, non-surgical, and prematurity. Certification in PALS or ACORN. Experience participating on working groups, committees and quality councils to improve quality of patient care.
