Respiratory Therapist I
Your Opportunity:
We are seeking a compassionate Respiratory Therapist (RT) for a temporary role at Westlock Healthcare Centre and Westlock Continuing Care. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide essential respiratory care across a broad patient population while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. This is a pivotal role where you will be able to practice autonomously in supporting multiple areas of care. This position offers broad scope of practice, strong clinical autonomy, and direct involvement in critical decision-making. RTs develop meaningful relationships with patients and families, gain exposure to varied cases (from emergency airway management to chronic care), and strengthen critical thinking and adaptability. Smaller team sizes foster close collaboration and a supportive, cohesive care environment. Westlock is located on Treaty 6 territory and Métis lands and draws people to its balance of affordability, strong community connections, and high quality of life—benefits that can be harder to find in larger urban centres. With minimal commute times, residents can enjoy a comfortable lifestyle in a welcoming, close-knit community where neighbours know and support one another. Residents also have easy access to outdoor recreation, including nearby lakes, trails, camping, and year-round activities like fishing and snowmobiling. Located about an hour from Edmonton, Westlock combines the advantages of rural living with convenient access to major amenities, shopping, and services—making it an ideal place for individuals and families who value space, community, and quality of life. This position may qualify for a recruitment incentive of up to $10,400 over 12 months. For full details, visit rcif-hsaa.ca.
