Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Current general duty Respiratory Therapy knowledge and skills, as demonstrated in an acute care facility. Current Emergency Department Respiratory Therapy knowledge. Ability to use initiative, take responsibility, and self-organize in a team environment. Ability to work under pressure and handle competing priorities in a dynamic environment. Ability to work collaboratively on a multi-disciplinary patient care team, and interact positively with staff, physicians, patients and visitors. Proven ability to advocate effectively for patients. Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing. Successful candidates are responsible for providing proof of active registration with the College and Associate of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA), and to maintain registration throughout the employment relationship. Current BCLS-HCP certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:Graduation from a recognized school of Respiratory Therapy. Successful completion of the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) certification preferred. One year Respiratory Therapy clinical experience post-graduation, in an acute care setting (preference will be given to those with Emergency experience). PALS, NRP and ACLS certification preferred. Preference will be given to applicants with Connect Care training.
