Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience working in Mental Health (Geriatric/Adult Psychiatry) required. Strong assessment skills required to recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient behaviour. Ability to recognize and assess patients in mental health crisis. Experience in suicide risk assessment, harm reduction, de-escalation techniques, behavioural safety plans required. Excellent leadership and time management skills. Strong communication skills that enhance team functioning.
Preferred Qualifications:Connect Care training. Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training preferred. I.V. certification and current Alaris pump training preferred. SPRAM Modules.
