Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Two years’ full-time experience in acute mental health psychiatry and understanding of the Mental Health Act and Community Treatment Order Legislation. Ability to communicate with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience and access to Connect Care. Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills with an outstanding customer focused attitude. Excellent organization skills, strong initiative, and ability to work independently. Competent assessment of behavioral risks and interventions in ensuring safety of patient, self, and others. Knowledge of and competent de-escalation skills. Physically and emotionally, carry out the duties of the position. Proven ability to work positively, effectively, and cooperatively within an interdisciplinary team.
