Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of recent Home Care nursing experience. Baccalaureate degree in nursing required. Self-directed and the ability to work independently and use sound professional judgement. Excellent organizational skills – to be able to prioritize and efficiently organize many details in a timely manner. Communication and assessment skills to work cooperatively and effectively with the healthcare team members, clients, and their families in a fast-paced environment. At the time of interview, you will be required to demonstrate your computer knowledge and proficiency by completing a skills test. Must have working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Visio, Outlook and Internet. Physically capable of performing nursing tasks which could include transfer of clients. The successful candidate will work independently in clients’ homes, which could include congregate settings, single family dwellings, condos and/or walk-up apartments. Therefore, the successful candidate must be able to work in different settings and environments (home environments and weather conditions), as well as be able to lift and carry medical bags, which weigh approximately 25-30 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Palliative care experience. Triage experience. Demonstration and experience in leadership roles. Experience with Meditech, Connect Care and RAI assessment tools. Current Case Management Experience in Continuing Care.
