Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:The Transitional Grad Nurse position is intended for new (within the past year) nursing graduates and is not open to individuals with previous nursing experience who have completed programs such as the Bridge to Canadian Nursing Program or the nursing refresher program following an absence of five years or more or a more advanced nursing degree. Graduated from an Accredited Nursing Program within the last 12 months. Not currently in a regular full-time or regular part-time position with AHS.
Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated critical thinking, effective decision making and conflict-resolution skills. Demonstrated time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a member of a care team. Experience with Connect Care.
