Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum two (2) years of current, direct patient care nursing experience required in the past 5 years (preferably in emergency or critical care areas). Specialized training in providing trauma-informed & harm-reduction approaches to care. Specialized training in communication, counselling and crisis-management skills. Lived-experience or working experience/specialized training in creating safer spaces for all people including all sexual orientations, gender identities & expressions, those who identify as people of color, indigenous people, people with disabilities or newcomers to Canada. Lived experience or working experience with populations disproportionately impacted by health disparities. Availability to pick up on-call shifts (primarily nights, and some days or evenings). Ability to lift 35 lbs. to transport the off-site sexual assault examination kit and supplies in and out of vehicles. Ability to travel to Calgary hospitals, correctional centres or child advocacy centres.

Preferred Qualifications:

Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner certification. Forensic Nursing training. Current, recent nursing experience working with people who have been sexual assaulted. Strong knowledge of community resources within Calgary and area. Working knowledge in systems such as Microsoft office, Connect Care. Strong decision making, critical-thinking, inter-personal skills, assessment and teaching skills - evidenced through reference checks.
