Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Post grad course in Peri-operative nursing or equivalent experience. 2 years recent acute peri-operative experience required within the last 5 years. Current ACLS / PALS certification desirable. Ability to perform consistently in a highly organized, rapid moving, complex environment. Ability to collaborate within the expectations of a highly complex integrated team. Demonstrated advanced problem-solving skills integrating critical thinking and good judgment. Demonstrated communication skills promoting respect and team spirit. Ability to stand scrubbed for many hours and to meet the physical demands of the position. Ability to wear lead apron protection for an extended period of time. Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office and on-line documentation required. Ability to work on call as scheduled. Current N95 fit testing required.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent experience in Urology and Ophthalmology surgical services preferred.
