Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Demonstrates strong organizational capabilities and clear, professional communication skills in both oral and written formats. Exhibits the ability to perform accurate telephone assessments, provide appropriate interventions, and ensure timely follow-up and referrals. Able to function both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, maintaining effective and respectful communication. Possesses basic computer proficiency. Brings recent and extensive experience in the management of complex wounds and ostomies, as well as a minimum of five years of acute inpatient surgical nursing experience. Knowledge of Connect Care is considered an asset. Experience in the care of acute general surgery and oncology patients is considered an asset.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor of Nursing degree and a certificate in, or current enrollment in, an approved NSWOC Nursing Education Program. Possesses demonstrated experience in patient and family education, with a strong emphasis on clear, respectful, and compassionate communication. Exhibits the ability to function both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, ensuring effective communication and a supportive, professional work environment.
