Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

Active registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Proven ability to function in an acute medical nursing environment within the last 3-6 months Ability to learn new skills and adapt to changing technology. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Critical thinking and problem-solving solutions. Ability to contribute as a team member, learn within a dynamic environment and adapt/cope with change. Demonstrated excellent time management and organization skills. Ability to manage the job classification of heavy physical demand level as per the AHS Job Demands Summary.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency with Connect Care and clinical documentation standards. Willingness to participate in the research initiatives of Ward of the 21st Century. Candidates with previous experience on Unit 36 or a unit of comparable acuity/patient population are strongly preferred. Experience with cardiac monitoring/telemetry an asset.
