Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 3-5 years’ recent nursing experience. Computer skills well developed in Connect Care, Microsoft office, Outlook. Expertise in wound care, wound vac, continence care and ostomy care. Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively. Demonstrated ability to show initiative and work independently. Utilizes expert nursing knowledge, complex decision-making and critical thinking skills, collaborative approaches to care, evidence informed practice, and strong nursing competencies. Uses advanced knowledge, skills and judgment to improve client care and manage complex and challenging situations. Evidence of excellent verbal and written communication skills, compassionate and caring attitude, strong commitment to client safety and quality improvement initiatives, holistic and advanced assessment skills, adherence to the CNA professional Code of Ethics, Registered Nursing Competencies and an understanding of the Destination Home initiative for AHS are required. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
Preferred Qualifications:A master’s degree in nursing or a related field is preferred. 1-3 years of Case Management experience. Medicine/Surgery experience preferred.
