Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of a recognized Critical Care course with at least 1 year full-time recent adult critical care experience is required. Must display excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal skills, and demonstrated critical thinking skills. Leadership skills and proven mentorship skills are a must. Must be able to identify own learning needs, seek guidance in professional practice when deficits occur and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional growth and development. A commitment to providing quality patient and family-centered care in a team environment must be demonstrated. Charge Nurse duties may be required. Must have the physical capability for the role, including the ability to lift up to and including 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience within an ICU setting, observation room, inpatient trauma, or experience with ventilated patients is preferred. Certifications, training or experience with the following are preferred: ACLS, TNCC, CNA Critical Care Certification, intermittent hemodialysis and/or CRRT, cardiac rhythm analysis, Pacemakers, Cardioversion/Defibrillation, Emergency Cardiac Arrest Management, External Ventricular Devices, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
