Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 1-year acute care nursing experience in the last 3 years. Strong Understanding of Family Centered Care. Ability to perform full duties of an ED staff nurse in all roles as required, including ability to stand for extended periods, wear lead apron and full PPE, frequently lift 20-30 lbs. and provide care for both medical and mental health patients.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. 3 months level 1 Pediatric Emergency Department experience in the last 2 years. 1 year dedicated pediatric acute care experience obtained in the last 3 years. 1 year Emergency, Urgent Care or Critical Care Experience obtained in the last 3 years. Trauma/ Triage/ Charge experience. Current PALS, ACLS, ENPC &/or TNCC. ACCN certification. NVCI training. Connect Care trained/downtime leader. INFO/CISM/ASSET training. Central line CLABSI trained. UTD ROL modules.
