Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Current 2 years' experience as a RN in a critical care setting (ICU, CICU, CVICU). Total years of critical care experience will be a determining factor in evaluating applicants. Certified in basic ICU critical care competencies- Arterial Lines, CVC, Defib, IV direct, NMB. Current certification in ICU advanced critical care competencies – code blue, TVP, ECG & 12 Lead Interpretation, CRRT. CCU trained.
Preferred Qualifications:Oriented to RGH ICU/CCU. Advanced Hemodynamics competencies CRRT, ICU Outreach, Charge. CNA Certification. Certificate in Adult Critical Care Nursing (ACCN). ACLS. Experience as a preceptor and/or orientating new staff.
